Hotel Information

The Cabanas

The refreshing, laid back ambience of the Cabanas at Sun City is the immediate impression one receives upon welcome. The most relaxed and casual of all the hotels at Sun City, the Cabanas offer informal yet comfortable accommodation.

Sun City Cabanas offer three dining choices– the chefs excel at creating imaginative theme style buffets at the Palm Terrace and everyday a full breakfast buffet and dinner buffet is offered. Light and scrumptious daytime fare is served at the Grande Pool Bar.

All the 380 rooms now offer modern up market décor and a retro design with a European feel. The rooms have been restyled in muted hues of glorious pinks and aqua greens. The white cotton linen duvets enhance the fresh feel of the rooms and allow for a more casual style.

All rooms are fully air-conditioned and equipped with quality flat screen TV’s with selected DSTV channels, tea and coffee making facilities and electronic safes and telephones. A major bonus for families is the mini refrigerator, which is ideal for storing baby bottles, milk and beverages

The Sun City Hotel

The Sun City Hotel is the hedonistic heart of the Sun City Resort. The ambience of the Hotel is one of glamour and sophistication.

From the moment you enter the foyer your senses are assaulted by the bold design aspects and dramatic setting.  The central area has been transformed into a jungle of lush foliage, cascading water and life-like boulders, encircling fast moving slot machines.  The hotel's view comprises a magnificent landscape of subtropical gardens and a sparkling swimming pool. It has a total of 340 rooms, which either face the Gary Player Golf Course or pool area, with gardens stretching down to Sun City's exciting Waterworld.

This hotel which overlooks the internationally acclaimed Gary Player Golf Course is abundant in restaurants to fit any desire.  If your taste tends towards the more piquant, then the Orchid Restaurant will sate even the most jaded taste buds. Traditional Asian cuisine ranging from Jasmine smoked duck served in pancakes with a sweet bean sauce to Malaysian spiced Chicken breasts. The Thai, Ka Ti ice cream is a taste sensation as is the layered Panda Lapis Cake. For traditional South African cuisine, the Calabash Restaurant will welcome you in true African style. The groaning buffet offers boboetjie, curries, carvery and steamed vegetables, followed by sinful trifles and tipsy tarts. The Calabash is where sensational tastes from the North and South meet.

The Cascades

Striking, beautifully coloured birds and fish are at home in the Cascades gardens and lakes which cover the gently sloping hillside.

They are laced with footpaths which wind between tens of thousands of exotic and indigenous trees and flowering plants. Lush gardens, tropical birds and water features give The Cascades its unique and relaxing atmosphere.  A sophisticated, elegant hotel.

Cascades Hotel, Sun City…. A cool breeze, a sultry summer’s day, an exotic cocktail at the sand bar and a hint of Turkish music, set the scene for a perfect holiday retreat.

The Cascades Hotel, the Grotto Restaurant and the pool area underwent an extensive R60-million refurbishment project, transforming the 1980’s themed pool area into a tropical paradise.
The Mediterranean is the deep, blue heart that gives life to the countries that surround it. With this in mind, Sun City has transformed the Cascades Pool and Grotto Restaurant into an area reminiscent of the azure blue of the tranquil Mediterranean.

The original garden area has been transformed into a lake with cascading waterfalls. The pool deck has been extended by about 7 metres and the lawn areas have been converted into a sandy beach complete with a secluded bathing area and sand bar evocative of Tom Cruise’s “Cocktail” movie. Guests can enjoy the ambience complete with bikini’s and flamboyant barmen. There is a heated pool, a Jacuzzi pool and children’s pool.

The Grotto restaurant has been revolutionised.  The Mediterranean restaurant now named Santorini, is surrounded by glass windows providing an all season enclave, harbouring guests during winter. Alfresco dining takes place along the island promenade and delightful gazebo’s offer shaded areas where guests can relax informally and enjoy a delectable meal.
